Rising Stars in the West End: Step into the Underworld with Hadestown’s new cast

Clive Rowe, who plays Hermes in Hadestown, stands on stage wearing a silver three-piece suit and holding a black umbrella. Cast members can be seen dancing in the background.

Hadestown, the Tony Award-winning musical and West End sensation, has just introduced its brand-new cast, taking audiences on a thrilling journey through intertwined love stories inspired by Ancient Greek mythology.

Hermes, played by the brilliant Olivier Award-winning actor Clive Rowe, introduces us to the young Orpheus, played by Marley Fenton, whom he takes under his wing as he composes a song destined to bring back Spring and change everything for the better. Then enters the beautiful yet troubled Eurydice, played by Bethany Antonia, who is yet to fall under Orpheus’ charm in a love story like no other, one that leads both lovers deep down to Hadestown.

As Orpheus continues his quest, he sings to Persephone, the Lady of the Underground, played by Rachel Adedeji, alongside King Hades, played by Alastair Parker, whose deep and grave tones bring even greater power and intensity to the ruler of the Underworld.

The cast is accompanied by the on-stage band, an integral part of the show that brings Anaïs Mitchell’s roaring jazz, folk, and blues-inspired score vividly to life. The music adds depth to a production already bursting with energy, featuring unforgettable numbers including “Why We Build the Wall” and “When the Chips Are Down”.

Editor’s pick: Discover the Man Behind the Legend in Sinatra The Musical

A man wearing a black tie, suit and assorted hat portrays Frank Sinatra in the musical Sinatra, with two women in black gowns standing by his side.

Premiering this June is Sinatra The Musical, bringing to the stage a celebration of Frank Sinatra’s legacy and most beloved music. The show, created by an award-winning team, takes audiences back to 1942, when a young Italian-American singer stepped onto the stage for a performance that would change the course of music history.

Taking on the role of Sinatra is Joel Harper-Jackson, starring alongside Ana Villafañe as Ava Gardner and Phoebe Panaretos as Nancy Sinatra. The crooner was not only the voice that captured the nation’s heart; behind the persona was an artist grappling with family life and temptations that led to scandal, ultimately causing the press to turn against him and setting the stage for one of the greatest comebacks in showbiz.

Brought to life by two-time Tony Award-winning writer Joe DiPietro (What’s New Pussycat?, Memphis) and Olivier and three-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Top Hat), the production features more than 20 of Sinatra’s greatest songs, including “For My Baby”, “The Best Is Yet to Come” and “I’ve Got the World on a String”.
