What is Hamilton the Musical about?
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash-hit musical is based on the story of Alexander Hamilton, an orphan from the West Indies emigrates to New York hoping for a better future. Along the way, he meets with future revolutionaries such as Aaron Burr, Hercules Mulligan, and Marquis de Lafayette. He became one of America’s founding fathers and the right-hand man of General George Washington during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today.
The highly anticipated musical has been delighting audiences around the globe since 2015. Winning a phenomenal 11 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize makes it one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. The London production, since setting up at the newly built Victoria Palace Theatre in 2017, has received multiple Olivier Awards, including the coveted title of Best New Musical.
