Who is in the cast?

The Jesus Christ Superstar London cast includes Sam Ryder, BRIT and Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter and musician, in the lead role of Jesus. He is joined on stage by Olivier Award nominee Tyrone Huntley, who previously played the same role in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production. 

Desmonda Cathabel, who recently starred as Eurydice in Hadestown, joins the cast as Mary Magdalene. Olivier-nominated actor David Thaxton, who has appeared in West End and Broadway productions of Sunset Boulevard, plays Pontius Pilate. Both actors also took on those roles in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production.

Nine performers are set to share the role of King Herod: Matt Bomer (16-31 October), Rob Brydon (2-7 November), Reece Shearsmith (9-14 November), Bob The Drag Queen (16-21 November), Michael Ball (23 November-5 December), Simon Russell Beale (7-12 December), Omid Djalili (14-19 December), Layton Williams (21 December-2 January) and one actor yet to be announced (4-9 January).
