About
A nod to our friends from across the pond, discover iconic London sights with American connections on the US London Landmarks Tour.
Spend a morning at the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral
The day begins with a visit to one of the city’s most iconic monuments, St Paul’s Cathedral. A landmark that has played a significant role in much of Britain’s past including historical events such as the funeral of Winston Churchill and wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
What you may not know is that this fascinating building also holds an important piece of lesser-known American history, being one of the first in London to install Benjamin Franklin’s famous lightning rod. Inside you will see the American Memorial Chapel lit by three beautiful stained glass panels, surrounded by the flags of the US states and territories of the time and adorned with fine wood carvings that depict the flora and fauna of North America.
See the oldest church in London
The next stop on the tour is All Hallows by the Tower, the oldest church in the city. Built in AD 675, this charming parish church still serves the local community that live and work in the City of London while hosting many visitors from around the world.
Located in the heart of the capital it has survived many of London’s most significant historic moments, including the 1666 Great Fire of London that started just a few hundred yards away.
Uncover its connection to America from a somewhat more joyous occasion, having been the venue for the wedding of the sixth president of the USA, John Quincy Adams who married in All Hallows in July of 1797.
Tuck into a traditional pub lunch
After a morning of exploring, it's time for a pitstop at The Minories. A traditional London pub serving British favourites such as fish and chips washed down with a classic pint of beer or ale.
