This new production by Mischief Theatre and 2026 Olivier Awards nominee has been a huge hit in the West End, and the original cast is returning this summer for a limited eight-week run. This uproarious farce takes you on a wild ride to London’s Piccadilly Hotel, where CIA and KGB agents collide in a frantic race to track down a rogue British agent who’s planning for a top-secret weapon. 

Miscommunication and mistaken identities soon spiral out of control, especially when a group of amateur actors auditioning for the first James Bond film are hilariously mistaken for key figures in this Cold War drama.

Set against the backdrop of the swinging 60s The Comedy About Spies dives into a world of stolen secrets, covert meetings in hotel rooms and chaotic blunders. Written by Mischief Theatre’s original members Henry Lewis and Henry Shields and directed by Matt Di Carlo, this laugh-out-loud comedy promises a riotous evening of farce and fun that you won’t want to miss.

Founded in 2008 by a group of students from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), Mischief Theatre is known for its unique blend of choreographed madness and comedy. 

Directed by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the company started with improv theatre before creating their now-iconic productions featuring the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society – a group of amateur actors whose performances always end in spectacular disaster.

One of their most beloved works, The Play That Goes Wrong, has been a smash hit for over 10 years in the West End.
