O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire W12 8TT[map]
American alternative rock band Angels and Airwaves formed from the ashes of seminal pop-punk band Blink 182. As Blink prepared for what would be their final tour in a long time, guitarist Tom DeLonge was writing material for a side project which would evolve into Angels and Airwaves. When they disbanded indefinitely in 2005, he went public with his new band and had soon built a loyal following on the back of their debut album We Don't Need to Whisper. Now a very successful band, Angels and Airwaves show no sign of slowing down, despite Blink 182's reformation, and will continue to tour and record for the foreseeable future.

O2 Academy Islington N1 0PS[map]
A gig from Anthrax, one of the originators of thrash metal, who have been melting faces since 1981, and have been integral to the development of metal. Famous for smashing the boundaries of the genre, they were amongst the first to unite metal with hardcore punk, and later even combine rap into their music with their Public Enemy collaboration, a bold step that Fred Durst and his nu metal pals have a lot to thank for.

The Underworld Camden NW1 0NE[map]
The third album in the career of Astral Doors is set to be a landmark in modern metal. After releasing two already classic albums, the band knew that on their third album, they once again would have to perform at the top of their skills to please themselves and their fans. Determined to create a masterpiece, Joachim Nordlund, Patrik Johansson, Johan Lindstedt, Mika Itäranta, Martin Haglund and Jocke Roberg moved into the studio, locked the door and threw away the key. When they broke out, about 5 months later, the result was more than brilliant: A pure metal and hard rock album with loads of classic tunes.
