1. Honest Burgers

Catch a local Honest Burgers special at locations including SohoKings CrossNotting Hill and Oxford Circus. This small chain takes local ingredients to create specialties only found in each individual location. A recent favourite is the Market burger in Borough featuring Brindisa chorizo and Kappacasein London raclette cheese.

2. Dirty Bones

Bringing the flavours of the Big Apple to London, head to Dirty Bones Carnaby for great cocktails along mouth watering food. Get your chops around The Mac Daddy burger, topped with pulled beef rib and, you guessed it, mac and cheese. You can also find this American indulgence in Soho, and Shoreditch branches. Or indulge in plantbase deliciousness at Dirty Vegan in Westfield Shepherd's Bush which features all of Dirty Bones confort food.

3. Patty & Bun

Patty & Bun's cheesy burger names are certainly memorable. You can't go wrong with their classic Ari Gold with red leicester cheese and smokey mayo on top of double Angus Beef patties. Branch locations include Liverpool Street, London Fields and Soho. Look out for the £6 off-menu burger specials too. 

4. Mother Flipper

Hunt down Mother Flipper's mobile van for juicy burgers on the go. There's just six choices, including the Chilli Chorizo Flipper. It's usually situated at Brockley Market on Saturdays and makes regular appearances at other London street food markets — check the Mother Flipper Twitter feed for updates.

5. Dip & Flip

Looking for a halal burger? Stop by Tooting in South London and experience southern barbeque at its finest at Meat & Shake, where the delicious meat is halal. Tuck into Lafayette wings, BBQ smoked brisket burger and pit beans. Top it off with deep fried Oreo doughnuts with ice cream.

7. MEATliquor

Ticking all the boxes for meat-eaters, MEATliquor serves up perfectly cooked slabs of beef in a range of American-style combinations. The perpetual fan favourite is the Dead Hippie burger made with secret sauce, grilled with real butter and fries, and we haven't even mentioned the chick'nlicious impossible nuggets. The burger joint and its secret mustard recipe sauce rose to fame and now count several locations, from Bloomsbury to Shoreditch, Queensway and many others.

When you see lobster and truffle on the list of burger toppings, you know you're in for a treat. The B&L burger is as upmarket as burgers come and you can only find it at Burger & Lobster. Or stick to just one or the other, but why not have the best of both worlds? What started from a London Roofstop has now risen to a delicious sensation with two ingredients, Nebraskan farmed beef and Atlantic lobster, and now boost 9 restaurants in London from Bond Street to Leicester Square, amongst other locations.

Go meat-free at this 100% vegan burger joint in East London. From a small market stall and various pop ups, The Vurger Co. has now two restaurants in London, in Shoreditch and Canary Wharf. Get your hands on sould satisfying food and try their extra crispy chicken'-y burgers coated in a secret spiced crumb, or choose from a wide range of delicious plantbase meat like patties from pork to beef and indulge in its iconic creamy truffle mac and cheese. 

10. Joe Allen

Joe Allen is about as authentic as you can get when it comes to American-style restaurants in London. Founded in New York in 1965 and a Covent Garden favourite since 1977, Joe Allen has developed a mystique around its off-menu burger (ask your server for details). It's not always available, but it's a surefire highlight when it is.
