The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical traces the story of 16-year-old Percy Jackson, who lives a normal life in New York until everything is flipped upside down when he discovers he is the half-blood son of Poseidon – the Greek god of the sea.

Percy is wrongfully accused of stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt on behalf of his father and sets out on a journey with his friends Annabeth and Grover to uncover the real thief. See the trio battle monsters and other beasts to stop a war between the gods from breaking out. Will Percy discover his true powers and learn what it means to be a hero.

This adaptation of the first book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series is a feast for all senses. Expect eye-popping set design and costumes courtesy of Ryan Dawson Laight cast against shadowy illusions, flashing lights, smoke effects and stellar rock songs.

The stage adaptation of the hit film and book series, Percy Jackson, first made its debut off-Broadway in 2014, before hitting London’s West End in November 2024 for a 10-month run at The Other Palace Theatre in Victoria. The thrilling, fast-paced show is directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee (Groundhog Day), while Rob Rokicki (Monstersongs) is behind the music and lyrics.

In the main cast, Max Harwood (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Stranger Things: The First Shadow) takes the lead of Percy Jackson, accompanied by Jessica Lee (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables) as Annabeth, and Scott Folan (Be More Chill, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) as Grover. 

Joaquin Pedro Valdes (The Baker’s Wife) takes the role of Luke, and Greg Barnett (The Duchess of Malfi) shines as Mr Brunner. Samantha Mbolekwa (Dear Evan Hansen) stars as Clarisse, while Joe Allen (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) plays Mr D, and Paisley Billings (Six the Musical) sparkles as Sally Jackson.
