London has a wide range of vintage shops where you can pick up some bargain couture.

Beyond Retro

If you want to immerse yourself in fashion bargains head to Beyond Retro, a converted warehouse in Cheshire Street. Here more than 10,000 items from the 1940s until the present day are housed under one large roof. This is a great place to head to for a cheap wardrobe update and many of the city's fashion students obviously agree as they visit regularly to rummage through the racks of items. Butler & Wilson

Head to Butler & Wilson if you want to find some prime vintage clothing in pristine condition. In the heart of Chelsea on the Fulham Road, the shop has an extensive selection of grand dresses, art deco jewellery, bags and even Marilyn Monroe prints in stock.

This Portobello Road vintage haven is a favourite with celebrities. Find inspiration from old Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Laurent clothing so rare that prices head well into the thousands! A favourite with designers, fashion magazine editors and It girls, Rellik in Golbourne Road has a good range of unique one-off vintage finds. Clothes hang on the walls and the racks are packed with old designer couture that is well-sourced and preserved.
