With many sustainable transport options to choose from, engaging in eco-friendly behaviours has never been easier in London. 

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has proposed the decarbonisation of transport by 2030, with efforts already in place to improve the green credentials of the public transport network.

Hire a bicycle

By bus

Boasting one of the world's largest bus networks, the 9,000-strong fleet is made up of 100% low or zero-emission vehicles, making it a great eco-friendly option. With more than 19,000 bus stops in London, buses are a very convenient choice for exploring.

Travel around London by London Overground and train services, a particularly good option for long distance journeys or travel beyond central London.

The city's trains are almost all electrically powered, making it a far eco-friendlier option than driving – reducing carbon emissions by two thirds to be exact!
