Despite the thunder and hail battering London early in the day, Melanie C brought a taste of Ibiza sunshine to Covent Garden with a fantastic pop-up performance in the heart of the famous piazza in collaboration with Sunglass Hut.

Sporty Spice returns as the global ambassador for Sunglass Hut, following a successful partnership back in 2024.

The new OWN YOUR MOMENT campaign for 2026 celebrates the idea that sunglasses are more than just an accessory.

As part of the campaign, Melanie C has also curated her own edit of sunglasses, featuring styles from Ray-Ban, Oakley, Ray-Ban Meta, and more.

What songs did Mel C perform?

Audience members who were lucky enough to catch the surprise performance got to hear a mix of tunes. The singer-turned-DJ skillfully blended everything from modern house tracks to rock classics with Spice Girls hits, including a crowd-pleasing remix of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit.

She also played music from her latest project Sweat, which proved a hit with the crowd - think Madonna’s Vogue meets Basement Jaxx.

The Sunglass Hut pop-up features an array of high-end eyewear alongside a broader mix of leading fashion brands and Sunglass Hut exclusives. Visitors can browse a curated selection ranging from high-fashion styles to sports-performance frames. As part of the experience, visitors can also pick up a free ice cream plus other fun perks of checking it out in person.

The activation forms part of Sunglass Hut’s global OWN YOUR MOMENT campaign, which this summer also features WNBA star Breanna Stewart in the United States and actress María Pedraza in Spain.
