What is 58th Street about?

Tucked behind an unassuming South East London entrance, 58th Street transports you to Belle Livingstone’s legendary 1930s jazz club – where champagne flows, the music swings and the drama unfolds in real time.

The full-blown theatrical journey through the golden age of indulgence includes a six-course New York tasting menu, live performances and a cast of characters who bring the story to life around you.

What are the highlights of 58th Street?

The atmosphere

A jazz band performs on stage in a dimly lit, elegant club. The band includes a saxophonist, drummer, and upright bassist, all dressed in white suits with red bow ties. The audience sits at tables lit by small lamps, with a large chandelier hanging above the stage, enhancing the sophisticated ambience.

The attention to detail in the space is breathtaking. As soon as you step through the soft pink velvet drapes, you’re transported to a soft-smoky jazz club with art deco lighting, curved intimate seating and a jazz band taking centre stage.

From the plush furnishings to the themed bathrooms, every detail evokes New York at the height of its jazz heyday.

Even the audience adds to the spectacle, embracing the theme with vintage-inspired outfits – think feathers, sequins and bow ties.

Live jazz and cabaret

The jazz band, dressed in crisp white suits and pocket squares, really get the crowd swinging from the get go.

Their performances are electric, often spilling off the stage and into the crowd, encouraging guests to dance and immerse themselves in the rhythm. The cabaret storyline, led by the enigmatic Bell Livingstone, adds a layer of intrigue and theatrical flair that keeps you guessing on how the evening will pan out.

The food

A slice of cheesecake topped with chopped strawberries and a crumbly topping, served on a white plate with caramel sauce. A spoon rests on the edge of the plate.

Each of the six New York-themed courses were incredible, with the menu featuring:

  • A zingy pickled walnut and goat’s curd Waldorf salad
  • A light crab and crawfish cocktail with pickled apple
  • Flavoursome seabass ‘veronique’
  • Succulent New York strip with lobster bordelaise and garlic pomme purée
  • A refreshing Kummel and blood orange sorbet
  • Show-stopping New York cheesecake with salted caramel bourbon sauce and strawberries

Each course was served with theatrical precision by white-gloved waiters, perfectly timed to the music – an indulgent feast that elevated the whole evening.

The bar

The experience includes a welcome glass of champagne, and guests can order table service (for an additional charge) from the jazz-themed bar, serving up classic cocktails with a twist.

Don’t miss the punchy Champagne Sidecar - a crowd favourite with our table!
