The medal collection at the Royal College of Surgeons contains over 200 items, most of which are art medals commemorating significant people or events. These are not only fascinating for their links to the history of medicine; many are also works of art in their own right. A selection of stylish Art Nouveau plaquettes are a particular highlight of this small exhibition of rarely seen material, which also includes advertising tokens, coins, and awards.

Sir John Soane's Museum WC2A 3BP[map]
The most important pieces include - stone elements from the 14th century House of Lords and Prince's Chamber and Wooden patera from the boss of the 13th century Painted Chamber at the Palace of Westminster, kept by Soane during alterations. The Chamber was destroyed in the 1834 fire and this patera is a unique survival.

The Merchants of Bollywood charts the history of the worlds largest and most prolific film industry, and the dynasty of stars that have been part of it over generations. Featuring a cast of 40 performers and seen by over two million people worldwide, this stage show brings together the colour, energetic music and huge-scale dance scenes of Bollywood, choreographed by one of Bollywoods best young choreographers, Vaibhavi Merchant.

Our gallery is unique in the United Kingdom in that it focuses only on contemporary metalwork. We select our artists from a wide spectrum of metals, aluminium, copper, steel, titanium, pewter, silver, gold and platinum. Along with this variety of materials, we also exhibit a great range of artists. Some are well established and greatly respected for their work within their field, while others are emerging talent. In some cases we have followed and encouraged their progress since their days at Art Colleges from all corners of the country.

Narrative Remains is a developmental arts project exploring how the stories of historical patients can be re-located and spoken anew within a contemporary context. Karen Inghams film and site-specific installation is provoked by the stories behind some of surgeon-anatomist John Hunters anatomical specimens - stories that have, over time, been lost from sight.

Soane's collection of Neo-Classical sculpture is recognised as of immense significance. It includes works by most of the leading sculptors of his day, with an especially fine collection of models by John Flaxman. Soane had the pick of Flaxman's studio after his death and apart from University College London, this is the finest collection of his work, including three rare terracottas made before Flaxman began producing his models in plaster. The collection also includes the model for the celebrated monument to Penelope Boothby in Ashbourne Church, Derbyshire by Thomas Banks.
