American alternative rock band Angels and Airwaves formed from the ashes of seminal pop-punk band Blink 182. As Blink prepared for what would be their final tour in a long time, guitarist Tom DeLonge was writing material for a side project which would evolve into Angels and Airwaves. When they disbanded indefinitely in 2005, he went public with his new band and had soon built a loyal following on the back of their debut album We Don't Need to Whisper. Now a very successful band, Angels and Airwaves show no sign of slowing down, despite Blink 182's reformation, and will continue to tour and record for the foreseeable future.
