The race kicks off at 9am and is only open to members of the Serpentine Swimming Club, though it draws crowds for its quirky charm. The best entrances for reaching the lake are Hyde Park Corner or Knightsbridge, both of which lead to the southern end near the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.
