About
From magnificent lakes to quaint villages, explore Cumbria’s gorgeous Lake District region on an escorted day tour from London, including rail travel and much more.
Train to the Lake District
Head to Euston Station to get an early train to one of the most stunning locations in the UK. After a little under three hours, step off the train and start exploring the beautiful UNESCO-listed Lake District region with a professional guide.
Explore the Lake District
Choose between two themed tours of the Lake District: the Beatrix Potter Tour or the Best of the Lake District Tour.
Beatrix Potter Tour
Head along the shores of gorgeous Lake Windermere and learn about the history of the area on the Beatrix Potter Tour. If there is time, the tour also includes a stop at Wray Castle, a mock-gothic castle where 16-year-old Beatrix Potter once holidayed.
Discover landscapes that inspired the author and visit other key locations, including Hill Top Farm where she lived and Tarn Hows.
Next, stroll through the quaint village of Coniston, before making your way to the tour’s final stop, Hawkshead, a charming medieval village steeped in history and literary connections.
Best of the Lake District Tour
Explore the fascinating history and culture of the Lake District as you tour some of its most scenic spots, with the Best of the Lake District Tour.
Start off in Windermere and head towards the Langdale Valley, marvelling at the spectacular views from Langdale Pikes along the way.
Next, travel to the heart of the wild Lake District and soak up the views at Blea Tarn as you drive through the Yewdale Valley, which is bounded by steep, craggy fells. You will also visit two picturesque villages, Coniston and Hawkshead, before enjoying a cruise on Lake Windermere.
Cream tea experience
Both tours include cream tea at Lindeth Howe. Enjoy a traditional British tea experience and tuck into scrumptious scones with fresh clotted cream and jam at Beatrix Potter’s family home, a pretty Lakeland country house hotel in Bowness.
Your guide will then escort you back to the station for the train journey back to London.
