About

Explore Sir Christopher Wren’s iconic architecture at the Old Royal Naval College, the centrepiece in the heart of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage site.

The iconic riverside estate boasts 500 years of rich history, transitioning from a royal hospital and college through to Henry VIII’s birthplace to Lord Nelson’s lying in state memorial.

What is there to see?

Start your adventure at the visitor centre for a fascinating overview of the long history of the site. Admire the fascinating collection of historical artefacts and interactive displays including an intricate replica of Henry VIII’s bedroom that stood on the grounds more than 500 years ago.

Explore the buildings and grounds to discover the stories of Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I; set foot in the breathtaking Painted Hall to discover awe-inspiring paintings of kings, queens and mythological creatures decorating more than 40,000 square feet of walls and ceilings; visit Skittle Alley to play with the wooden bowling balls dating back to 1864; discover the fascinating story of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson’s lying-in-state in the Nelson Room and experience the richly decorated and naval themed Chapel.

Talks and tours also take place daily, which are included in the price of the ticket. You can also browse the three gift shops for souvenirs, gifts and books.
