Champagne and cheese make a perfect pairing at Champagne + Fromage, a shop-cum-bistro selling the best of both in Covent Garden.
The shop itself, secreted away on Wellington Street, is Gallic at its most gorgeous: displays of champagne, cheese and charcuterie make for quite the chic centrepiece, while mismatched furniture and reclaimed materials add a stamp of authentic French flair.
The focal point, however, is a fabulously oversized fromagerie that’ll have foodies tripping over themselves to fall inside.

I went here last night with a few colleagues and it was DELICIOUS! OMG this place was made for my taste-buds. We got ridiculous amounts of cheese boards, baked camemberts, meats, tartiflette etc. The champagne (and yes, they only do champagne, no wine for the wicked) was delicious, if pricey as hell (£54 for the cheapest bottle).
I just really liked the casual atmosphere here, bar stools,... more
A joy! Everything here is delicious, as can be evidenced by the fact that we ate pretty much one of everything on the menu and a good chunk of the cheese selection. Toasties are creative and tasty. Cheese plates are beautifully presented. Prices are super reasonable and the staff is kind and knowledgeable. The champagne-only angle is odd but totally works. Love this place! more
I was very very excited about this place as the menu looks delicious (charcuterie boards, baked Camembert and different cheeses on sour dough) along with champagne. What could be better?
Great selection of champagnes and although expensive I like that they've stuck with it and don't offer beer and wine.
I had their house option (glass for £9) and it was delicious! Served in pretty glasses.
I mean....its right off Drury Lane in the heart of the city so its never going to be cheapo but for what is a rather lovely little venue they are just too expensive.
Their wall fridge of cheese is glorious, the smell is strong...cheese lovers only here I would say.
Bottles of champagne start at £50, I get the French thing but for the budget consumer having a great cava or prosecco on their... more
This place is really a treasure! My boyfriend and I came here for our last dinner in London, and were so pleased with everything. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. The champagne really does go well with everything you'll have here, and you'll feel extra-fancy drinking bubbly instead of wine or beer. Our gastro board (assortment of cheese, meats, and tapenades served with grapes,... more
