About
Discover the story behind the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, popularly known as Neasden Temple, a vibrant place of worship, learning and community service.
The Temple embodies traditional Hindu design and was hand-carved in India before being assembled in London. Look out for the many intricate carvings using Hindu motifs of auspiciousness, peace and piety, such as the floral ornamentation decorating the fluted central dome.
Next to the temple is the Haveli, a cultural centre built using traditional wood-craftsmanship, while downstairs visitors can learn about the origin, beliefs and values of Hinduism through the permanent exhibition, Understanding Hinduism.
Entry to the Temple is free, except to the exhibition.
