About

Prepare for an unforgettable experience as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express returns to London with a brand-new immersive production at the specially designed Starlight Auditorium at  Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre

The legendary show has been reimagined for a new generation, bringing back the classic musical with a dazzling performance to delight all ages.

What is Starlight Express about?

Expect a skating extravaganza as 40 cast members whizz down the tracks surrounding the auditorium. Speed is integral to the show, following a journey of engineering and racing. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical Starlight Express premiered in the London West End at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in 1984, and went on to become a world sensation.

As you take your seat in the specially designed auditorium, you enter a world where trains take centre stage. A child  playing with model trains, dreams of boarding one. Suddenly, the toys spring to life embarking on a quest to become the fastest engine in the world. Traditional steam train Rusty, modern electric sensation Electra and diesel engine Greaseball compete, with passenger train coaches joining the race. As the competition heats up, alliances shift and chaos ensues.

When exhausted underdog Rusty has little hope to win, he hears about the legend of the Starlight Express, which inspires him to compete against the favourites, Greaseball and Electra.

Seen all around the world, Starlight Express remains an electrifying experience still delighting audiences today. The innovative and immersive musical takes you on an unforgettable journey into the world of train travel where steam travel makes a groundbreaking return.
