What is Cabaret about?

Willkommen to the Kit Kat Club! This is Berlin. Leave your troubles outside and enjoy a world where you can be yourself! Based on the classic Broadway musical, Cabaret tells the story of American writer Clifford Bradshaw and his relationship with British cabaret performer Sally Bowles, in 1930s Berlin. 

Enter the venue and be greeted by a smoky, dimly-lit atmosphere that perfectly captures the mood of the time. From there, go on a journey through different performances exploring themes of love, lust and more, which showcase a wide range of acts, including singers, dancers and acrobats.  

Whether it's fire-breathing acrobats or jaw-dropping contortion acts, be prepared to be wowed by these talented performers – expect provocative dancing, soulful singing and daring costumes.

The show features hit songs such as "Willkommen" and "Don’t Tell Mama", bringing the Kit Kat Club to life at the Playhouse Theatre. But what really sets the Kit Kat Club apart is the immersive element, as the performers not only act on stage but also interact with the audience, bringing you into their world.  

The musical’s star-studded cast includes Matt Willis (Wicked, Footloose) as Emcee and Katie Hall (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera) as Sally Bowles. Baker Mukasa (A Christmas Carol, Standing at the Sky’s Edge) plays Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall (42nd Street, Chicago) plays Fraulein Schneider and Robert Hands (Come From Away, Witness for the Prosecution) plays Herr Schultz.

Can I book a table for this show?

If you choose to book stalls tickets, you will be seated at cabaret tables right at the centre of the action. Please note that seats are extremely close to the stage and you will be surrounded by the performers onstage.

What time should I arrive?

We encourage you to arrive earlier to enjoy the Prologue. Some of the cast will be performing around the building and reception area as guests arrive to take their seats. You are welcome to explore the club and enjoy a drink at the bar as the performers set the tone for the show.

Evening performances usually take place at 7.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

When are the matinees performances taking place?

Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club matinees are on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2pm.

What age is the play suitable for?

The show is recommended for anyone aged 13 and above. The show contains adult themes that might not be suitable for a younger audience.
