Six The Musical: from beginnings to success
Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss created Six The Musical during their final year at Cambridge University, first presenting it with a group of fellow students at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show's inventive blend of historical events with catchy pop hits quickly captured the attention. Its success at the festival led to a full-scale production, debuting on London’s West End in 2019.
That same year, Six received five Olivier Award nominations, including Best New Musical. Following its success in the UK, the musical toured the United States in 2022, confirming its success story by winning two Tony awards: Best Costume and Best Original Score.
