What is Six The Musical About?

The Tudor Queens are wearing a modern version of their traditional outfits lifting one hand in the air.

Experience the lives of six Tudor queens – King Henry VIII's wives – reimagined as fierce and inspiring on-stage divas. In a vibrant, modern twist, each queen steps into the spotlight to tell her unique story of marriage, love, and betrayal, all while performing hits inspired by today's biggest pop icons.

Meet Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr as they transform history into a musical showdown. In a style reminiscent of a girl band concert, the queens engage in a thrilling song contest to determine who suffered the most under Henry VIII's rule – famous for leading many of his wives to their tragic fates.

Tudor queens are dressed with sequin modern dresses performing on the stage of the Vaudeville Theatre.

This sensational musical explores themes of love, sisterhood and power while empowering the representation of women in history with catchy tunes inspired from pop and R&B music. Enjoy the comedy as the wives compete to tell the most powerful story, in a celebration of girl-power and being true to yourself.

Six The Musical: from beginnings to success

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss created Six The Musical during their final year at Cambridge University, first presenting it with a group of fellow students at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show's inventive blend of historical events with catchy pop hits quickly captured the attention. Its success at the festival led to a full-scale production, debuting on London’s West End in 2019.

The actress portraying Jane Seymour takes the spotlight in Six The Musical, wearing a silver sequin dress.

That same year, Six received five Olivier Award nominations, including Best New Musical. Following its success in the UK, the musical toured the United States in 2022, confirming its success story by winning two Tony awards: Best Costume and Best Original Score.
