There’s no better way to spend a Sunday morning in London than wandering the capital’s colourful street markets; picking up cool crafts or vintage treasures and tucking into delicious street food.

Camden Market
Camden Market is actually made up of two marketplaces: The Stables and The Lock, located right in the heart of Camden Town along pretty Regent’s Canal. Pop in to pick up unique handmade jewellery and artwork, vintage fashion, souvenirs and much more from the stalls and shops clustered within. Then, stop off for an alternative Sunday lunch at one of the food stalls. Open 10am to late
Columbia Road Flower Market
One of London’s most famous Sunday markets, Columbia Road Flower Market is a feast of flowers, colours and scents. Snap away at all the beautiful blooms and pick up plants and gardening essentials. Get there early to see it at its best – and save some time to browse the independent shops and eateries along Columbia Road itself. Open 8am to 3pm
Covent Garden Market
Covent Garden Market was once a hub for fruit and vegetable sellers. Today, you’ll find plenty of great gifts instead! It's made up of three markets: Apple Market, selling British-made crafts and accessories; East Colonnade Market, with stalls offering everything from magic tricks to sweets; and Jubilee Market, where on weekends you’ll find arts and crafts. Open 10am to 6pm (East Colonnade Market and Apple Market open 12pm to 6pm)
Flea at Vinegar Yard
Alongside its mix of pop-up street food stalls, Vinegar Yard hosts a vintage and makers market at the weekends. Browse through the stalls and take home antique and reclaimed furniture, books, records, retro clothes and other one-off treasures. There’s plenty of time to grab a bite to eat or enjoy drinks while you soak up the relaxed atmosphere. Open 12pm to 5pm
Greenwich Market
Greenwich Market is one of the highlights of the historic area of Greenwich, which is also home to the Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum and Cutty Sark. The market is packed full of stalls selling quirky gifts, arts and crafts, fashion and one-off designs. Have a browse, grab some lunch from one of the many food stalls and find a perch along the river or in nearby Greenwich Park. Open 10am to 5.30pm
Eccleston Yards
Find vendors from across London selling unique finds in Eccleston Yards every Sunday, just around the corner from Victoria station. Pick up illustrated children’s books from Telling Tales, handmade candles from Clarity Candles, stunning ceramics from Studio Pottery London and bespoke jewellery from Roccabella. Maltby Street Market
There are few better places to spend Sunday morning for foodies than at Maltby Street Market. This small but popular market is known for its fresh produce and baked goods – popular items include St John Bakery’s sourdough bread and doughnuts, and the Chilli Brothers' hot sauces. There are also cakes, cheeses and craft beers on offer, so go with an empty stomach – and an empty shopping bag. Open 11am to 4pm
Old Spitalfields Market
One of the finest remaining Victorian Market Halls in London, Old Spitalfields Market was built in 1876. But it still attracts Sunday shoppers, who come to find pieces from up-and-coming designers, home furnishings and accessories. The stalls are surrounded by restaurants, beauty shops and niche stores, selling everything from delicious cheeses to wine. Open 10am to 5pm
Southbank Centre Market
Venture behind the Royal Festival Hall in South Bank on a Sunday, and you’ll discover a cluster of small producers and independent food stalls selling delicious snacks and drinks. Buy meats, spices and preserves to take home, or tuck into freshly made dishes. Pop into the Royal Festival Hall while you’re there, and you might even catch some free music in the Clore Ballroom.
