The lively hub of a creative collective housed within a former Victorian school, Rochelle Canteen serves up simple yet creative breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes; from avocado on toast, to skate with monk’s beard and capers.

Run by event caterers Melanie Arnold and Margot Henderson (Arnold & Henderson), this Shoreditch eatery is concealed within an old bike shed, but expands into a tranquil garden with tables and benches on sunny days.

Chat to some of the resident workers over lunch, or relax with a coffee and book outdoors – it’s open to all, and you’ll learn more about its creative community in the process.

This was a nice little find in East London. When I trek all the way to the other side, I like to find little "hideouts", to which this really fit the description. Menu changes everyday but... more

It's certainly not vego but the food has so much lovely vegetable influences. Everything was so fresh and so much of it was freshly picked from the garden.

On the garden... This is the ultimate spot for a sunny day as most of the tables are outside in this... more

We were lucky to get a weekend booking when they opened up on a weekend as a one off.

Service was extremely slow throughout our visit. No one answering the buzzer for 5 minutes, no one seating us, eventually taking us to a table which was dirty and again left for another 15 minutes before even cleaning it up. Finally taking our food order after being prompted a few times.

After getting very... more
