About
Explore explosions and rockets on the site of the historic Royal Gunpowder Mills.
The Royal Gunpowder Mills was founded in 1735 to supply gunpowder for industry and war. After the second world war, the site was opened as a research centre for rocket propellant and explosives. This family friendly museum explores the history of the site and the science.
During your visit you can see secret rockets, test crazy carts, find out about the women who made munitions during the second world war and ride the miniature railway.
