There has been a bridge over the Thames at this site for nearly 2000 years. The first one was built by the Romans while the current one opened in 1973. London Bridge is a simple, functional bridge which is sometimes confused with its more elaborate neighbour, Tower Bridge.

This is London Bridge, where the terror attacks happened a few weeks ago. I've always thought that London Bridge was the Tower Bridge, but I was completely wrong in that assumption.
It's a pretty straight forward bridge. At the ends there are some cool little things, but overall, it's nothing to make you go crazy over.
If you want to say you walked the London Bridge then go for it.... more
London Bridge - not to be confused with the more famous landmark "Tower Bridge" - is a normal looking bridge. Which is currently undergoing massive construction to become a retail center too. Expected completion date is 2018.
One of the first things you may notice is a super tall skinny looking pyramid-shaped building - that is supposed to be the tallest building in the UK.

London Bridge is just another bridge crossing the Thames River. Nothing special or unusual about it. Like all of the bridges in London, it gives interesting and varying views of the many landmarks, but it is just concrete box girder bridge over water. The original bridge built by the Romans was the first to span the Thames, but other than that historical context, nothing peculiar about this... more
The London bridge isn't anything special. The best things it has to offer are nice views of the Shard and of the Tower bridge. There's no need to make it a priority on your itinerary. more
