Good, not great? Fine, not amaaaaahzing?

Totally a-ok, nothing disastrous, but definitely nothing stand-out either.

Although it's not technically a basement, this location of Joe Allen sure feels like it...it's intentionally dark and, even showing up for brunch on a Sunday, means that I lose track of time easily. Which maybe is appropriate...the whole place feels kind of in a time warp:... more

I would go back. There's no point describing. The place. Lots of reviews do that already so check one of them out.

I came here in a rather big group. (14 out us) the staff were really accommodating and super nice. All the food came at the same time. And the drinks and we weren't disturbed or interrupted too much.

One of my favourite hangouts in the centre of London. Down a little side street and some stairs, it is a converted cellar. Great atmosphere, NO TV screens, really good cocktails, both old and new and some of the best steaks you'll find. Even though it's always busy, the service is excellent and they've updated their old policy of cash only to now take cards!!!
