Emirates Air Line cable car

Take a leisurely 10-minute trip on the Emirates Air Line cable car from ExCeL London to North Greenwich, where you’ll find top music and entertainment venue The O2. Here, you can climb the iconic landmark at Up at The O2, tuck into varied cuisine at its numerous restaurants, catch a movie at Cineworld, or attend a concert. The O2 Arena regularly hosts top performers from around the world. 

If you’re an exhibitor or a visitor to a show at ExCeL London you’ll receive a discount on Emirates Air Line, allowing you to use the cable car for just £2.50 (normal single fare is £4.50). To redeem this exclusive discount, all you need to do is show a confirmation email/ticket etc - something that indicates that you are attending an ExCeL event - to the staff at the Emirates Airline terminals.

Boat services from ExCeL London

The Jupiter clipper operated by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers sails past The O2. 

Why not take to the river Thames to visit some of London’s top sights? Thames Clippers' regular boat services leave from North Greenwich Pier (accessible via Emirates Air Line cable car) and stop at various piers en route to central London. At these stop-offs, you’ll be able to explore the likes of Royal Museums GreenwichTower BridgeTower of London, the London Eye and much more.

Services depart every 20 minutes on weekdays and 15 minutes at weekends (less frequently late evening). A single fare is £8.60 – discounts are available for Visitor Oyster Card and travelcard* holders. 

Underground and DLR services from ExCeL London

Most of London’s best things to do are also within easy reach of ExCeL London via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Underground services. Take the DLR directly from Custom House or Prince Regent stations to Tower Gateway, next to the Tower of London; or change for services to Greenwich, the City of London or London City Airport.

London’s Underground network is accessible from Canning Town, via the DLR from ExCeL London, or from North Greenwich via the Emirates Air Line. From these stations, you can take the Jubilee line west into Central London, with Westminster's historic attractions, Mayfair’s shops and restaurants, and the West End's theatres all within 20 minutes.

Head 15 minutes in the opposite direction on the Jubilee line, and you’ll find shopping hotspot Westfield Stratford City and sporting hub Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in Stratford.

London Overground

London’s Overground network serves locations in outer London. It can be accessed from ExCeL London via connections with nearby DLR and Jubilee line stations such as Stratford, Canada Water, and Shadwell.

Rail connections

The nearest mainline stations to ExCeL London are Stratford International (15 minutes), London Bridge (16 minutes), Waterloo (17 minutes) and Liverpool Street (27 minutes). These stations are reachable via the DLR and Underground network.

Travelling by car

The main route west into Central London is via A1020 (Lower Lea Crossing), A1261, A13 (Commercial Road), A1203 (East Smithfield) and A3211 (Lower Thames Street/Upper Thames Street). Parking is available onsite at ExCeL London’s three car parks: Royal Victoria Car Park, Orange Car Park, and East Car Park.

Cycling from ExCeL London

ExCeL London is a short ride from the cycle superhighway, CS3, which runs from Barking to Tower Gateway. The journey time to Tower Gateway is approximately 30 minutes. There are 60 free-to-use cycle racks at ExCeL London.

  • London Gatwick Airport is located one hour away by taxi or train, Underground and DLR.
  • London Heathrow Airport is located one hour and 30 minutes away by taxi or Underground and DLR.
  • London Stansted Airport is located 40 minutes away by taxi or one hour and 30 minutes by train, Underground and DLR.
  • London Southend Airport is located 50 minutes away by taxi or one hour and 30 minutes by train and bus.
  • London Luton Airport is located one hour and 40 minutes away by taxi or train, Underground and DLR.
