What is The Popinjay Cavalier about?
Set in 1830s Europe, the story follows Rupert Sebastian Thomas Jr., a man who considers himself nothing less than the greatest actor alive. Known as Rupert the Magnificent, he heads to Paris after landing the rare opportunity to perform at La Comédie-Française, the pinnacle of his acting career.
However, things don't quite go to plan. Having seemingly managed to insult the French, Rupert soon finds himself in hot water. What should have been a triumphant trip across the Channel takes a far more dangerous turn, throwing the extravagant gentleman into a perilous adventure filled with sword fights, deception and daring deeds.
Will Rupert manage to make it to the stage in one piece? Expect a swashbuckling tale packed with theatrical mischief and unexpected twists.
What makes The Popinjay Cavalier a must-see?
