About

Experience the powerful stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s classic American novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, as the award-winning play returns to the West End for a limited run at Wyndham’s Theatre this summer.

Following smash-hit runs on Broadway and in the West End, Aaron Sorkin’s acclaimed adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is touring the UK and Ireland for the first time, before returning to London.

Rediscover Harper Lee's enduring tale of racial injustice and childhood innocence in a riveting production starring acclaimed stage and screen actor Richard Coyle, who is reprising his role as the iconic Atticus Finch.

What is To Kill a Mockingbird about?

Set in a small town in 1934 Alabama, against a backdrop of racism and prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird depicts the childhood of Scout and Jem Finch, whose lawyer father Atticus defends Tom Robinson, a black man falsely accused of rape.

As Tom’s trial reaches a conclusion, can Scout and Jem help, and does their reclusive neighbour have a part to play?

Adapted by Academy Award-winner Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball) and directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher (My Fair Lady, Kiss Me Kate), the play is based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Harper Lee.

This era-defining story tackles social issues which have helped to inspire conversation and change.

To Kill a Mockingbird London cast

Acclaimed stage and screen actor Richard Coyle (The Player Kings, Macbeth, Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore) returns to this iconic production as Atticus Finch, reprising the role he played to great critical acclaim in the 2022 West End production.

Further casting for the West End production will be announced soon.
