What can I use the app for?
The app is designed to help you make the most of your stay in London. Search for theatre shows, outdoor spaces, must-see sights, family attractions and much more.
If you’re looking for inspiration, the app shows our top picks for a huge range of hidden gems, unusual events and places to visit.
For those of you with a bucket list in mind, you can use the search function. Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, find out more, get directions and save it to view later.
For the very best experience, download the offline map of the city (requires 82MB of memory). You’ll then have a really useful map of London in your pocket – even if you don’t have a network connection!
Do I need to go online to use the app?
You’ll need an internet connection to search and view content but once you’ve saved it, you can view it offline.
Please be aware that your mobile carrier may charge you for mobile data when using the Visit London app. We recommend checking with your carrier to understand mobile data and roaming costs.
Even without mobile data, you can use wifi to save your favourite places and download our excellent offline map before you head out, allowing you to enjoy the best of London without a data connection.
How is the information in the app different to visitlondon.com’s website?
Our website is a complete resource for all visitors to London and is designed for those who are pre-planning their trip. Our app is for people who are in the city, highlighting the most relevant things to do and see while they’re here.
How do you choose which places to feature in the app?
Our editorial team handpicks content in the app. Their mission is to highlight the most current, relevant and inspiring places to visit.
What do I do if a place in the app is now closed or the information is wrong?
Given the speed with which London can change, it is quite possible that a place may have closed down or moved. We update information regularly, but with thousands of London venues, it can be hard to keep up.
If you do find any incorrect information in the app, we’d be very grateful if you could let us know by sending an email to: [email protected]
Do you have both Android and iOS versions of the app?
Yes, we do. Since April 2017, we have versions of the Visit London app on Google Play and the App Store.
Do you have an iPad version?
We do not have a native iPad app yet, but you can use the Visit London app on your iPad. The design and functionality have recently been optimised to make full use of the larger screen.
Is it safe to book tickets through the app?
Where possible, we have provided booking links on the app. You can safely book your tickets to top London events and attractions directly with us through our trusted affiliates including SEE Tickets and Golden Tours who sell millions of tickets each year.
Our app does not store or display tickets, reservations or receipts. These will be sent to you by email from the affiliate you have purchased tickets with.
Any questions related to your booking should be directed to the affiliate through which you have purchased your tickets.
I downloaded the offline map, but now I want to delete it
To remove the map download from your device memory if you have iOS device, simply tap the trash can on the top right hand side of any map screen.
If you have an Android device, tap the overflow menu (three dots on the top right-hand side of the map screen).
Which languages is the app available in?
The app is currently only available in English. We plan to add other languages in the future.
How do I contact you?
