Fancy yourself as a Prince of Pop or a Disco Diva? Then you're spoilt for choice for club nights in town. Whether you like your music cool or cheesy, it's out there just waiting for you!
Blow Up
Saturday nights at the Metro Club bring a cool combination of mod, northern soul, 60s beats, Motown, indie and psychedelia. Plus a dash of French pop thrown in for that extra 'ooh la la' factor!
If you hanker after a time when men wore parkas and girls wore A-line dresses, this is the place for you. So, get your go-go boots on and hop on that scooter down to Oxford Street...

If you have an urge to dress up as a motorcycle cop or a college cheerleader then Carwash is the place to live out your fantasies! The dress code is 'funky and groovy' and covers all sorts of looks - from gangster to cowgirl. But, be warned, fake afro wigs and cheese are a no-no and will see you left out on the pavement. Check the Carwash website to make sure your look cuts the mustard. Once in, you’ll find a fabulous party packed with 70s and 80s disco, rare grooves, hip hop, party anthems, retro funk, soul and more. At Club Aquarium.
Casino Royale
The marvellously camp but cool Victor De Milo welcomes you to Casino Royale with a flourish of his frilly cuffs. Try your luck at his roulette table where the stakes are high (free drinks!). This night at the Barfly has been running for more than seven years and plays a fantastic mix of classic guitar cuts from the 70s to the noughties, plus northern soul, 60s garage and psychedelia.
Club Fantastic
According to its website, Club Fantastic at Sound is not just a club; it’s the 'biggest party in town'. The Leicester Square location makes it the ideal spot for a big night out in the West End. And it’s just a short stumble away from Trafalgar Square and your chauffeured ride home (otherwise known as a nightbus). Hit the dancefloor and boogie the night away to R&B, funky house, 70s disco, 80s pop and a touch of cheese.
Guilty Pleasures
Are you a closet David Essex fan? Are you embarrassed about that Olivia Newton-John track on your iPod? Be ashamed no more! Guilty Pleasures at Koko is the place to go and embrace all those unfashionable tunes that you hate to admit you love. Where else could you dance to Neil Sedaka and Dolly Parton without blushing? You can even confess your sins to the priest of pop and purify yourself with a vodka shot. You’ll feel much better afterwards…
Pretty in Pink
Aaah, we all have fond memories of a kooky Molly Ringwald in the classic teen movie, Pretty in Pink. Relive the whole Brat Pack, 80s experience at this poptastic night at The Fly. There are two rooms: downstairs you’ll hear plenty of new romantic, pop and dance, from the likes of Human League, Depeche Mode and Adam and the Ants (how cool is that?). Upstairs, you’ll be treated to new wave, indie, punk and alternative, including the Ramones, Pixies, Nick Cave and loads more.
