Come summer, London is buzzing with international and club cricket matches played at world-famous cricket grounds, and on green spaces by amateur teams throughout the capital – the season lasts from April to September.
Top cricket grounds in London
London has two major cricket grounds. Lord's Cricket Ground is one of the most famous cricket grounds in the world and is home to the Middlesex County Cricket Club. The Oval is home to Surrey County Cricket Club.
Both venues play host to England international test matches (five-day games) and limited-over matches (one-day and Twenty20 format matches).
Cricket ground tours
Go on a tour of Lord’s, the iconic cricket ground in Marylebone, to see the Ashes urn, dressing rooms and to soak up the history and tradition of the Marylebone Cricket Club – most commonly referred to as the MCC.
Cricket fans can also tour The Oval, including the chance to take to the commentary box, discover historic memorabilia in the Members’ Pavilion and enjoy tea or coffee overlooking the outfield.
