Nice spot for a cup of tea and an afternoon snack. Very busy cafeteria style area. Had a bowl of butternut squash soup and a delicious croissant. Easy for family to come and go from the table. more

Very good treacle tart! Good service. A bit pricey because it's in the gallery, but had a nice time.

Tea was also good. more

This place is so popular and busy, with a separate espresso bar and restaurant.

It is surprisingly restful to sit at the informal seating as there is wonderful art on the walls. There is an entrance to the espresso bar from the gallery above, handy.

The Peyton and Byrne company run quite a lot of cafes... more

The National Gallery Cafe/Espresso Bar is a nice casual spot to get an afternoon pick-me-up, if needed, while visiting the gallery. They offered sweet treats, sandwiches, soups, and a few hot items if you want casual dining or just to grab something quick. Coffee and tea drinks are also available. The staff was very friendly. more
