Facilities include various exhibitions on diverse aspects of black culture, a library that houses various publications and an archive with artefacts, documents and materials attesting to the black presence in Britain.

Normal opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 - 18:00, Sunday-Monday closed
Late opening until 19:00 every second Thursday of the month
Reading room is open Wednesday-Friday 10:00 - 16:00pm, and 13:00 - 19:00 on late opening Thursdays (as above)
Open for library browsing (no archive access) Saturday 13:00 - 16:00
