About
Take a guided tour of Mansion House in the City, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London.
This grand 18th century building was built in the Palladian style and is full of architectural significance.
Enter via The Walbrook entrance designed to allow the Lord Mayor to come and go unobserved.
Notable features include the glittering chandeliers in the reception area, the marble statues and stained glass in the Roman-inspired Egyptian Hall and the elaborate plasterwork in The Old Ballroom.
Look out for items from The Harold Samuel Collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings, including a painting by Frans Hals, called The Merry Lute Player. There is also a large silver and gold plate collection, featuring vases, candelabra, flagons and cutlery.
