About

Pop into the Ben Uri Gallery in Whitechapel to see works of art by prominent artists from the start of the 20th century.

The gallery was founded in July 1915 in Whitechapel, east London by a Russian émigré Jewish artist, Lazar Berson.

Today the collection spans both the gallery and online resources and includes more than 440 artists from 44 countries, of which 60% are émigrés and 29% are women.

Check out an exhibition at this east London venue. Exhibitions change regularly throughout the year and cover everything from individual artists to specific themes and influences.
