BBC Television Centre

BBC Television Centre was opened in 1960 as the headquarters of BBC Television.

Over the decades, many popular shows were recorded in the Grade II-listed BBC studios, including Fawlty Towers and Doctor Who.

The building was sold by the BBC in 2012: it is closed to the public and it’s not possible to take a BBC tour of the studios. London shows have now moved to the BBC Broadcasting House, where you can buy tickets for radio show recordings at the BBC Radio Theatre, or visit the onsite shop selling the best of the BBC's merchandise.

Things to do at BBC Television Centre

The old BBC studios have now closed, but there are many things to do in the newly renovated building in White City.

• Pay a visit to one of the many restaurants and bars in the building: feast on giant pizzas at Homeslice, enjoy a burger from Patty & Bun, or chill at the new branch of the sophisticated Chelsea hangout, Bluebird.
• Stay at the Soho House Hotel, a contemporary design hotel from the creators of the famous private club, boasting a rooftop swimming pool and bar (reserved to members).
• Catch the latest film releases at the Electric Cinema, opening in spring 2018.
