About

Enjoy the joyful MAMMA MIA! musical at the Novello Theatre in London and discover why millions of theatregoers have been drawn to this show, which is celebrating 26 years on the London stage and has become the third longest-running musical in the West End. Since its premiere in 1999, this smash hit show and global phenomenon continues to win over audiences, who still rave about the ultimate feel-good experience.

The much-loved musical keeps dazzling London with its infectious ABBA tunes and heartwarming story of love, laughter and family dynamics.

What is MAMMA MIA! the Musical about?

Just like the film of the same name, the MAMMA MIA! London musical is about a bride-to-be, Sophie Sheridan, who attempts to find her father so he can give her away at her wedding. She invites three possible candidates to the wedding on a fictional Greek island, with hilarious consequences – all set to a soundtrack of ABBA songs!

Her mother, Donna, is the former lead singer of a girl band, while the potential fathers are three very different men from Donna's past. What follows is a hilarious and heartwarming tale of love, friendship and the enduring bond between mothers and daughters.

ABBA's greatest hits, from Dancing Queen to Super Trouper, create moments of sheer musical magic that will have you tapping your feet and singing along. You'll not be able to resist the urge as the cast bring classic songs to life such as Waterloo and Take a Chance on Me.

Since opening in 1999, more than eight million theatregoers have enjoyed this fun-filled musical in London's West End, and it's also been turned into a blockbuster film with a sequel, with Mamma Mia 3 currently in the works.
