Asia House

Asia House celebrates and promotes the varied and myriad cultures of Asia, and regularly holds talks, exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, performances, book launches, fashion shows, and breakfasts with Asian politicians. A café serving pan-Asian snacks and specialist Asian teas has just opened on the premises.

The British Museum

The British Museum's department of Asia is renowned for its collection of Chinese Buddhist paintings from Dunhuang in Central Asia, and the Admonitions Scroll by Gu Kaizhi. The Chinese collections of antiquities, porcelain, laquerwork, jade and bronze objects, and artwork – ranging from the Neolithic period, to contemporary prints and paintings – are some of the most important to be found in the West.

Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A)

Five chairs by Chinese designer Shao Fan have just been added to the V&A's acclaimed Asia collection – which encompasses over 70,000 items from several East Asian countries, including China. These include furniture, textiles, ceramics, laquerwork, metalwork, carvings, paintings, and modern art and craft. There's also a significant selection of Buddhist sculptures, paintings and images.

Tate Modern

The Tate Modern is a gorgeous gallery which has permanent displays of contemporary Chinese prints and paintings in its collection.
