Visit a pop museum, see music star hang-outs and listen to live music.
Here's how to make the most of London's rich musical heritage with a music-themed day out.
Morning: London Days Out: Music
The British Music Experience is a permanent exhibition at The O2 Bubble, which is dedicated to the history of popular music in Britain.
Fascinating artefacts include original handwritten lyrics, outfits, instruments and other personal items from hundreds of famous artists and bands, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Sex Pistols, Motorhead, Stone Roses, The Spice Girls and Amy Winehouse.
Lunch: London Days Out: Music

From The O2, take the Tube to Charing Cross or riverboat to Embankment pier and enjoy a free lunchtime concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 1pm, this popular London church presents a wide range of concerts – from choral to classical music. After the performance, head downstairs to the Café in the Crypt, a self-service restaurant selling tasty, affordable food.
If you're more of a wannabe rockstar, head to Hyde Park Corner for lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. This legendary 1970s restaurant serves authentic American cuisine. More importantly, it is home to one of the largest, most valuable collections of rock'n'roll memorabilia in the world.
Afternoon: London Days Out: Music

After you've had lunch, travel to Chalk Farm in North London.
Right next to the Tube station is the Roundhouse, a famous London music and theatre venue. Previous performers include Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, The Chemical Brothers, The Who, Morrissey and James Brown. Today, its exciting music programme includes live jam sessions and concerts by both huge stars and new talent.
From the Roundhouse, it's a five-minute walk to Camden, famous for the Camden Lock market and its alternative culture. Have a traditional British pint in one of the local pubs that double as music venues, such as The Dublin Castle or The World's End.
Evening: London Days Out: Music

End your musical day out in London on a classy note with dinner at Ronnie Scott's.
This legendary jazz bar is located on Frith Street, near to Tottenham Court Road Tube station. Since opening in 1959, it has attracted many jazz superstars, including Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Stan Getz. Relax, eat and listen to great live jazz, before dancing the night away in the upstairs cocktail bar.
