Battersea Pie Station Comes to Covent Garden

Ray Winstone's favourite pie shop, Battersea Pie Station, has just opened a new branch in Covent Garden. The pies, made from free-range British meat, are available to eat in or take away. There's also a range of unbaked pies to cook at home. For a taste of celebrity, try The Winstone, a steak and kidney pie named after Battersea Pie Station's famous fan!

New Tuscan Restaurant at Harrods

Renowned Italian winemakers the Frescobaldi family have just opened a Tuscan restaurant in Harrods. The dei Frescobaldi Restaurant and Wine Bar is the family's first eatery outside Italy. The menu features signature dishes such as scallop and fennel risotto and tagliata of grilled rib eye steak. In the wine bar, you can enjoy fine wines and authentic Tuscan antipasti.

Porridge Extravaganza at Giraffe

Galvin Brothers Launch Restaurant, Café and Bar in East London

Brothers Jeff and Chris Galvin launch a new venue in East London this week, with a fine dining restaurant, café and bar all under one roof. Galvin La Chapelle serves classic Galvin dishes such as lasagne of Dorset crab and slow cooked Pyrenees lamb; Galvin Café de Luxe offers bistro food and outdoor dining; and an interconnecting bar serves light dishes from 5.30-7pm.

Chinese Cricket Club Opens in the City

This week sees the official launch of Chinese Cricket Club, a new Chinese restaurant at the City's Crowne Plaza hotel. On the menu you'll find Chinese favourites like chicken and corn soup, twice cooked pork, and crispy chilli beef, plus a range of dim sum, including lobster dumplings and honey glazed pork puffs. The eatery is named after the newly formed Chinese national cricket team.

Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding Launches Kanaloa

Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding and her DJ boyfriend, Tom Crane, have teamed up with the founders of Mahiki to launch a Polynesian-themed bar in the City. The pan-Asian menu at Kanaloa includes tempura lobster and chilli salt baby squid, while the drinks menu features 140 varieties of rum, and the indulgent Dead Man's Chest cocktail, which is brought to your table by a voodoo funeral procession.
