LARGE COD with CHIPS: so good! The cod was huge! the fries were perfectly crisp.. you must order the homemade tartar sauce to go with.

The servers were so nice!

Will definitely be back when I come back to London.more

I was directed to Golden Union Fish Bar from all the reviews on Yelp, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the 'small' plate of cod and chips. The fish was huge. Fish and chips is quite the simple meal but there are many things that can go wrong while preparing a portion. For example, the oil that is used to fry the fish is important because it transfers that certain aftertaste on it.

We had the cod and haddock fish and chips. Both were flaky and chunky, though like the menu says, the haddock is flakier and the cod chunkier. The haddock frying actually was not crispy all around, but rather, a little soggy. That was a little disappointing.

Overall good quality fish, but I guess it's hit or miss on the frying quality.more
