I think this place is great for ambiance, but by no means can I really consider this a five star wine bar because it was simply ... meh.
I had several wines here when I came to visit because I had some time to kill before dinner. This place was easy to find as it was right outside of the Embankment station in London. The windy stairs gave away to a lower, cave-like area where there was a bar,...more
The best way to describe Gordon's Wine Bar is to liken it to a car (bear with me here). Over the last century cars have improved in speed, variety, access and style, but we all love the simplicity, style, romance and dysfunctionality of a vintage car.

Fantastic ambience, great wine and nibbles. If you manage to get a table under the cave (there's a good a turn around of tables so it does pay to wait ) excellent place to visit for first dates or a good catch up with friends. We ordered two rounds of the cheese, bread to go with our drinks. I would highly recommend it.more
Love this place! Definitely going back!more
