About Archipelago

Situated on a quiet Fitzrovia sidestreet, Archipelago is one of London’s most exotic and unusual dining destinations. As famous for its décor as it is for its menu, the cosy dining room is packed full of peacock feathers, palm trees and artefacts from all over the world.

Archipelago promises to take diners on an uncharted culinary journey where signature meals of seared zebra, kangaroo fillet and African crocodile bites are offered alongside more conventional dishes. All of their ingredients are ethically sourced so diners are guaranteed a guilt-free gourmet experience.

Archipelago on Whitfield Street is a little gem. I regularly visit the restaurant with clients for business lunches. This particular evening I was with my girlfriend and we were lucky enough to be treated to what felt like a private dining experience, being waited on hand and foot. Given that they're serving up delights such as kangaroo and zebra, the food obviously isn't 'fresh' which increases the price due to the journey it's been on, but the ambience and experience comes recommended from me.

Came here for my birthday and had a great night. The staff were extremely friendly and very good at explaining the weird and wonderful food on the menu. My fiancée had zebra to start which was really nice and bison for main which was slightly tough. I had the unagi for starter which was good and kangaroo for main which was lovely and tender. We even had the love bug salad which was interesting and even ate a bee with the crème brulee pud..very nice. Great place to experience something new!!!

The restaurant is as great as usual, but the new year's menu and food quality seems to not match the usual standard. The potato soup as starter (spices were too challenging) and springbok as main (the pancake is quite sour) were not the best i had from this place.. I'd stick to the crocodile and zebra next time. However my friend had the steak as main and was very satisfied. Still, novelty and creativity fare high for my book and this place is so far topped by no other!
