Lutyens Restaurant and Bar
About Lutyens Restaurant and Bar
Situated in the old Reuters office on London’s Fleet Street, Lutyens restaurant is a venture between Sir Terence Conran’s and Peter Prescott (of Albion and Boundary fame in Shoreditch). Great attention has been paid to the details at Lutyens and the dining room is an elegant space complete with sleek banquettes and crisp white linen. The white-on-white palette is a perfect backdrop for the artworks, some from Sir Terence’s own collection. The art Deco glamour of Lutyens’ bar and its seafood section are popular with post-work City slickers, while early risers often drop in for the full English breakfast. While French cuisine is what’s on offer, Chef David Burke has added an Irish flourish to the classic French brasserie menu where lobster mousse and Landaise chicken sit alongside pigs’ trotters and roast rabbit. The extensive wine list includes some excellent by-the-glass options and seafood lovers will love the glistening plateau de fruits de mer. At dinner, the great value Menu Compris at £39.50 per person (includes three-course menu, plus a half bottle of wine, mineral water, coffee and petit fours) is also available. Dinner in the City doesn’t get better than this.

Lunch at Lutyens on Fleet Street was an enjoyable experience. The staff were courteous and atttentive and the food was very good. I had the cod, which could have benefitted from some stronger lavours, but it was well cooked. A pleasant experience all round.
Pleasant environment for a breakfast meeting with enough space to have a private conversation. Food sound and enjoyable enough. Service a little overstretched
The toptable 3 course meal was excellent value, particularly on Valentine's Day. Good (but not spectacular) food and friendly service.
