Winchester Palace
About Winchester Palace
From the street you can see the remains of the great hall of Winchester Palace, built in the early 13th century as the London house of the Bishops of Winchester. The remains include the striking rose window which adorns the west gable. Most of the palace was destroyed by fire in 1814.
