About Royal Mews

One of the finest working stables in existence, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is home to the royal collection of historic coaches and carriages. The Royal Mews houses the State vehicles, both horse-drawn carriages and motor cars, used for coronations, State Visits, royal weddings, the State Opening of Parliament and official engagements. The most dazzling of all the coaches on display is the Gold State Coach, used as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002.

As the horses may be on duty, undergoing training or away from London, they are not always on view.

Royal Mews Facilities

Opening Times	1 February - 31 March 2012: open Monday to Saturday 11:00-16:00 (last admission 15:45). 1 April to 31 October 2012: open daily 10:00-17:00 (last admission 16:15). 1 November to 21 December 2012: open Monday to Saturday 11:00-16:00 (last admission 15:45). The Royal Mews occasionally closes for state visits, you may wish to check the opening times in advance.

The Royal Mews and The Queen’s Gallery (combined ticket only available 4 May – 7 October): adult £15.75, concession £14.50, under 17 £8.85, under 5 Free, family £40.75.

A Royal Day Out ticket gives admission to The State Rooms, The Royal Mews and The Queen’s Gallery (only available 31 July – 30 September): adult £31.95, concession £29.25, under 17 £18.20, under 5 free, family £83.50
