The Green Park
About The Green Park
The Green Park is the smallest of the eight Royal Parks – but it has always been one of the most popular. The Green Park is quite different from its neighbour St James’s Park. The natural undulating landscape consists chiefly of grass and mature trees, making it an attractive and tranquil place to visit all year round. The Park provides a peaceful refuge for people living, working or visiting Central London. The triangle of lawns and trees between Piccadilly and Constitution Hill is much-loved for picnics and sunbathing. During spring, more than 250,000 Daffodils burst into life, making The Green Park yellow for a few glorious weeks.
Open: Daily from 05.00-midnight all year round.

It was also a famous duelling site until 1667 when Charles II bought an extra 40 acres and it became known as upper St James's Park.
