About The Golden Hinde

Full-scale reconstruction of Sir Francis Drake's world-famous sailing galleon. The ship is open 7 days a week for self-guided tours. Also available are guided tours, private parties, living history experiences and team-building workshops. The ship is a registered wedding venue and is available for private and corporate hire.

Opening Times Monday-Friday 10.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Saturday & Sunday 10.00 a.m to 5.30 p.m.
The shop is open every day, except Easter Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
Monday – Friday 11.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

    The Golden Hinde is renowned for its Family Overnight Living History Tours. These take place once a month throughout the year. Where you become part of Sir Francis Drake's crew. On arrival you will be dressed in Tudor costumes as an Officer, Barber Surgeon, or Gunner and taken aboard where the Master of The Golden Hinde will give you your commands for the evening, along with the Barber Surgeon and their 'dimwit' Gunner.
